Everest Base Camp Trek Itinerary (13 Days)

📍 Route: Kathmandu – Lukla – Namche Bazaar – Everest Base Camp – Lukla – Kathmandu

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

• Arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital.

• Transfer to hotel & trek briefing.

• Prepare trekking permits & last-minute shopping.

Overnight: Kathmandu

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing (1,400m) [7-8 hrs]

• fter breakfast, we will be taking you on the UNESCO Cultural Heritage Tour. You'll be visiting the Swayambhunath or the Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath, a holy Hindu shrine and crematorium, Boudhanath- the biggest Buddhist temple in the world, Patan Durbar Square, a Medieval Royal Palace city known for fine arts and metal and stone carvings that date back as far as the 14th Century.

Overnight: Kathmandu

Day 3: Flight to Lukla (2,860m) & Trek to Phakding (2,610m) [3-4 hrs]

• 30–40 min scenic flight to Lukla (Tenzing-Hillary Airport).

• Start trek with a gentle walk through villages & forests.

• Cross the Dudh Koshi River and reach Phakding.

Overnight: Phakding

Day 4: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) [6-7 hrs]

• Cross suspension bridges & trek through pine forests.

• Enter Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo.

• Steep ascent to Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital.

Overnight: Namche Bazaar

Day 5: Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

• Short hike to Everest View Hotel (3,880m) for panoramic views.

• Explore Sherpa Museum & Namche’s vibrant market.

• Rest & adjust to altitude.

Overnight: Namche Bazaar

Day 6: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,860m) [5-6 hrs]

• Trek along the Dudh Koshi River, with views of Ama Dablam & Everest.

• Visit the Tengboche Monastery, the largest monastery in the Khumbu region.

Overnight: Tengboche

Day 7: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410m) [5-6 hrs]

• Descend through rhododendron forests & cross the Imja River.

• Trek past Pangboche Village before reaching Dingboche.

Overnight: Dingboche

Day 8: Acclimatization Day at Dingboche (4,410m)

• Optional hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083m) for Lhotse, Makalu & Island Peak views.

• Rest to adapt to high altitude.

Overnight: Dingboche

Day 9: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910m) [5-6 hrs]

• Cross Thukla Pass (4,830m), passing Everest Memorials.

• Trek with Khumbu Glacier in sight.

Overnight: Lobuche

Day 10: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) & Back to Gorak Shep (5,164m) [7-8 hrs]

• Trek to Gorak Shep (last settlement before EBC).

• Continue to Everest Base Camp, witness Khumbu Icefall.

• Return to Gorak Shep for rest.

Overnight: Gorak Shep

Day 11: Hike to Kala Patthar (5,545m) & Trek Back to Pheriche (4,240m) [7-8 hrs]

• Early morning hike to Kala Patthar, best viewpoint for Everest sunrise.

• Descend to Pheriche via Gorak Shep.

Overnight: Pheriche

Day 12: Trek Back to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) [6-7 hrs]

• Retrace steps via Tengboche Monastery.

• Return to Namche Bazaar for celebration & rest.

Day 13: Trek Back to Lukla (2,860m) [6-7 hrs]

• Final day of trekking, retracing the route via Phakding.

• Celebrate completion of the trek at Lukla.

Day 14: Flight Back to Kathmandu & Departure

• Morning flight to Kathmandu.

• Rest or explore city before departure.

✅ Tour Includes:

✔️ Accommodation in a 3-star hotel in the cities and simple comfortbale lodges on the trek
(upgrade of the accommodations to luxury hotels/lodge possible at extra cost or the option of staying in Home stays with family)
✔️ All ground transportation is provided.
✔️ Flight to Lukla from Kathmandu and back by fixed-wing aircraft
✔️ Sightseeing in Kathmandu with a city tour guide
✔️ Full broad meals will be provided during the trek ( Breakfast, Lunch, and dinner)
✔️ Government trained guides and needed no. of porters (every 2 trekkers will share 1 porter)
✔️ Guide and porter's insurance, salary, and meals will be provided.
✔️ Farewell dinner along with one cultural show.
